Ramsey Pro Portal

Previously, all Ramsey Endorsed Local Providers and SmartVestor Pros used multiple products to manage their referrals from Ramsey Solutions. These products were outdated and difficult to use. Our team created an easy-to-use product, on a single platform, for all 4,000+ agents and professionals.

Customer Problem

All 4,000+ pros were using 3 different different webapps to retrieve and manage their Ramsey referrals. Real estate agents were mainly using a mobile-first, responsive webapp built on an early version of Bootstrap. Insurance agents and tax professionals were using a desktop-focused, decade-old system. Investing professionals were using yet another, mobile-first responsive webapp.

Business Problem

Maintaining legacy code was expensive. The team was limited in what new, helpful features we could provide to our pros because the feature would have to be added in 3 different places. As Ramsey transitioned all pros to RamseyTrusted, a unified experience was necessary to provide training of the brand transition and understanding how to earn and keep their designation.

Design Process

Interviews with pros to identify current pain points and to gather feedback on ideas. Due to commitments to other projects, I wasn't able to join as many interviews as I'd like so I had to rely on what the rest of the team was hearing from our pros.
Heavy utilization of Ramsey design system and existing design patterns from other Ramsey products.
High level of collaboration with product engineering team to quickly build a V1 so that the old systems could be shut down. The process usually went something like this:
- Meet as a cross-functional squad to discuss customer problem.
- Brainstorm a solution with a whiteboard or pen and paper sketch.
- Engineers build the idea on their local machine.
- Validate the idea with the pro support team or a handful of previously selected pros.
- Build and ship feature in the Pro Portal.

Results

The team designed, validated, and built a single, responsive webapp for all RamseyTrusted pros to retrieve and update their referrals, learn how to best serve their referrals, update their account information, review and understand their standing as part of RamseyTrusted, and view customer reviews. The new Pro Portal simplified the process to update referral status information and drastically improved the payment process for RamseyTrusted real estate agents.
